In the fall of 2020, Lead Pastor Jeff Clark laid out a vision for the next ten years at Venture Church. Whereas the previous decade was marked by a “come and see” model of church, the future would be led by a “go and be” model. Venture Church is a church of House Churches. Believers in the New Testament gathered in homes for discipleship where they became deeply connected and experienced an intimate community of faith. At Venture, House Churches are a small, diverse, and intimate community of people defined by compassionate care, devoted discipleship, generous giving, and selfless care.

House Churches are:

SCRIPTURALLY BASED

During House Church, the House Church Pastor will guide members through a deeper dive into the previous Sunday’s message, teaching, and scripture. The goal for anyone participating in a House Church is transformation which requires personal application, enabling people to process and integrate the timeless truths of the Bible into their lives.

GEOGRAPHICALLY BASED

House Churches are geographically based. We want people to live in deep, intimate community with others who live on their street, in their neighborhood, or in the same town. People who live in close proximity are more likely to regularly attend a House Church, engage outside of weekly House Church gatherings, and experience genuine community. We want House Churches to be scattered throughout our communities with neighbors bringing neighbors to House Church.

DIVERSE

House Churches are cross-generational. A House Church looks more like a family rather than a group of friends experiencing the same stage of life. We have a deep desire for children to see their parents reading the Bible, discussing scripture, praying together, serving alongside others, and being in community with others in the church. Cross-generational communities represented the makeup of the early church. Likewise, a House Church is made up of people representing different socio-economic levels, cultures, and races. Above all human differences, Christ is exalted as the common bond for all relationships within the church.

House Churches are ongoing and meet weekly with the exception of a designed rest week once every month. New people are always welcome in a House Church. We encourage you to find the House Church in closest proximity to where you live and try it first. Once you find the right fit, make a commitment and begin investing in community.

House Churches won't have organized weekly meetings during the summer but you can still register to begin connecting with the community.

We encourage you to find the House Church that is closest to you geographically by selecting your county below, then by clicking on “Show Map”.
